BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO THE COMPANY
 

 As early as in the first year of the Qing Dynasty (1736 A.D.), Tongqing Tea Firm opened a mill in Yiwu Town of Xishuangbanna Prefecture to produce tea products.  The mill was the first of its kind in Yunnan to adopt refined tea processing technology featuring “6 rounds of screening tealeaves and 6 rounds of discarding unsatisfactory materials”.  Thanks to the top quality of its products, Tongqing Tea Firm earned enormous fame and became the biggest Pu’er tea seller of its time in Xishuangbanna.  The “dragon and horse” pattern on the instruction sheet, which was packed with its products after being authorized in the late Qing Dynasty in line with The Rules for Trial Implementation of Trademark Registration, was one among the earliest trademarks in China.  The “Tongqing Tea Firm” pattern recorded in the history of Chinese tea culture has become the gem of trademarks in the Chinese history.  Xishuangbanna Tongqing Tea Co. Ltd. has inherited the unique features of its ancestors.  By utilizing refined technology and delicately screening tealeaves picked from the pre-Ming Dynasty ancient arbor tea trees growing in 6 major tea-producing mountains, the Company produces its series top-quality Pu’er tea products, all of which are exclusively hand-processed.  The Company’s products have not only won praises from the domestic and overseas Pu’er tea lovers, but also become national gifts presented to distinguished foreign guests.  Presently, the Company is the exclusive owner of the registered “Tongqing Tea” trademark.
 Apart from inheriting the traditional tea processing technology from its ancestors, Xishuangbanna Tongqing Tea Co. Ltd. has invested huge capital in the research and renovation of the Pu’er tea processing technology.  Based on the existing aging and fermenting techniques, the Company utilizes modernized technology to rationalize the production, ensure high-standard hygiene and bring its products to uniform quality, so as to meet the consumers’ needs for healthy life.  The Company’s invention has been certified by the State Administration of Intellectual Property Rights of the People’s Republic of China and won state-granted patent.  To answer the call of Yunnan Provincial People’s Government to develop Pu’er tea into a pillar industry and construct Yunnan into a province of influential ethnic cultures, Xishuangbanna Tongqing Tea Co. Ltd. has built in the downtown area of Jinghong City a garden-like Pu’er Tea House, which covers 5 mu of land and strictly conforms to the food hygiene standards.  Objective of the project is to create opportunities for tourists to personally experience the tea-making processes and learn about the profound connotations of the Pu’er tea culture, and contribute to the promotion of Pu’er tea culture.
